Overall Review: I'm using this card temporary for a week while I'm upgrading (evga step-up) from 8800gts640 to the new 8800gts512. The ATI Radeon HD 2400 is a feature-rich upgrade from integrated graphics for an immersive experience with DirectX 10 gaming and HD video. The rv620 graphics card does not be a 4 rops. 50c idle 62c load stock speeds, oc'd to 750/900 (probably can go higher but I don't try to push it) oc'd maintains temps of 51c idle 62c load in my TT Armor well ventilated tower case, takes off load from cpu during playback of many kinds of video codecs (not that I really need it with Q6600 G0 3.2GHZ 400x4=1600MHZ FSB).Ĭons: 3D performance is poor (on par with Nvidia 6600GT and ATI x1600Pro), as expected though so its not really a con.
Pros: no noise, low profile, doesn't require a power connection, very decent 2D display capabilities 1920x1200 on my pc screen and 1280x720 on my pj, good colors maybe a bit nicer than Nvidia 8800 in 3D, runs super cool with the help of Gigabyte's smart heatsink technology.
